Glaucoma: The Silent Thief of Sight – MedPark Hospital Shares In-Depth Knowledge for World Glaucoma Week 2025
MedPark Hospital, in collaboration with Bausch & Lomb (Thailand) Ltd., hosted an educational seminar on glaucoma in observance of World Glaucoma Week. The seminar, titled “Is it true that glaucoma is a silent threat to vision?” featured expert insights from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prin Rojanapongpun and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Visanee Tantisevi--distinguished ophthalmologic specialist in glaucoma -- with extensive expertise and regional recognition.
The event fostered a warm and welcoming atmosphere and was well attended, with Lady Khunying Rose Boribalburibhand and the National Outstanding Mother Association executive members graciously participating. In addition to engaging and insightful lectures by ophthalmologic specialists, the event featured an interactive Q&A session, where our ophthalmologists provided clear, detailed, and easy-to-understand answers throughout.
The event also featured a special guest, Ms. Kalyanee, who shared her firsthand experience of being diagnosed with glaucoma by chance and receiving early treatment. Her story is a powerful reminder of the importance of regular eye check-ups. Glaucoma can affect anyone and is a silent threat, typically presenting no noticeable symptoms in its early stages. Vision loss is often apparent only after significant, irreversible damage has occurred.
